Switzerland Tourism Collaborates with World Travel and Tourism Council as Destination Partner

In a strategic move to reinforce its influence on the global stage, Switzerland Tourism has officially entered into a collaboration with the World Travel and Tourism Council, joining the organization as a Destination Partner. This new partnership marks a significant milestone for the Swiss national marketing body, aligning its long-term vision

About Switzerland Tourism

Switzerland Tourism promotes the country as a high-quality, year-round destination for both leisure and business travel. With headquarters in Zurich and a far-reaching network of 35 offices across 21 source markets, spanning the Americas, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, the organization manages a dedicated workforce of approximately 280 staff members.

Strategic Partnership Objectives

The World Travel and Tourism Council is a global organization that brings together leaders from across the travel and tourism industry. By joining the council’s industry-led ecosystem, Switzerland aims to strengthen international collaboration and contribute Swiss perspectives to vital global discussions. The partnership focuses on four key pillars: fostering sustainable tourism growth, enhancing industry resilience, driving digital transformation, and maintaining long-term competitiveness.

Insights from Industry Leadership

Gloria Guevara, President and CEO of the World Travel and Tourism Council, welcomed the collaboration, praising Switzerland’s unique alpine landscapes, rich cultural heritage, and its wide range of year-round experiences. She emphasized that working together will be essential to supporting sustainable growth and further strengthening Switzerland’s position as a high-quality destination on the global stage.

Martin Nydegger, CEO of Switzerland Tourism, highlighted the strategic value of the partnership. "Joining this global body enables Switzerland Tourism to engage more closely with international leaders," Nydegger stated. He noted that the organization intends to leverage the council’s ecosystem to share Swiss expertise and benefit from direct engagement with the top business leaders.

Shaping the Future of Global Tourism

This partnership confirms Switzerland’s commitment to shaping the future of global tourism. Beyond enhancing the nation's visibility as a must-visit destination worldwide, the partnership reinforces Switzerland’s role in advancing a tourism sector that is sustainable, resilient, and economically strong. By combining its natural beauty, rich cultural heritage, and commitment to sustainability, Switzerland reinforces its reputation as a leading year-round destination while contributing to a more sustainable and resilient global tourism industry.
